Chapter Fourteen

She’d closed down again. He should be pissed about that, but . . . he grinned, her screams still echoed in his ears. His mate was a lusty one. He had no complaints there.

He opened the front door, standing to the side so she could pass by. Sela glanced up at him as she walked inside. Mac erased his grin. It escaped again once she went inside.

He couldn’t help it. He wanted to shout it so everyone could hear. He’d pleasured his mate. Thoroughly. Three times. Ah, the expression on her face right before he’d turned her to face the rock . . . Mac shoved his shoulders back. All those centuries of practice had paid off.

He might have to load that rock up in his pick up and bring it back to his house. He’d put it in the center of his backyard. No trees there. The thought of Sela stretched out, the moon glowing on her soft skin . . . Damn.

Mac grunted and readjusted his jeans. Sela looked over at him just then, she saw what he was doing, her eyes popped wide and she took off towards his kitchen.

What did she expect? They’d just found each other. He’d be after her for the next several centuries. Longer than that. Hell, he’d probably be walking around with a permanent hard on from now on.

Especially, now that he had her number. Sela liked his beast. It excited her. Hell, he excited her. Her heartbeat picked up and she grew wet, throwing off a strong scent of arousal when she was around him.

She didn’t mind his less than gentle side, either. She relished the slight sting of his claws and the nip of his fangs. It shocked her, but it definitely turned her on. Not that he would ever hurt her.

He still couldn’t believe she thought he’d bitten her. He could not imagine injuring her soft skin. Plus, having the scent of blood in the air when his beast was aroused was not a good idea. If his beast was in a rage, blood could cause bad things to happen.

His mate had a lot to learn. Unfortunately, he didn’t have a lot of time to teach her about the intricacies of being a werewolf’s mate. His list of priorities started and ended with keeping her safe and happy. To do that, he had to find her sisters and eliminate the bad guys.

Once he was certain Sela was not in danger, he would be happy to spend his time teaching her all about his world. And everything involved in keeping a werewolf happy. For him, that meant Sela, preferably naked.

He readjusted himself again.

Mac headed towards the kitchen. He wanted some meat, something raw and bloody. He’d worked up quite an appetite. He spotted Sela, standing in front of a window, munching on an apple, as soon as he walked in. She didn’t turn around, but he knew she was aware of his presence. Her entire body stiffened.

Mac opened his refrigerator and pulled out a chunk of meat.
